Maryland Genealogical Society - Online MD Death Records
Researchers with Maryland ancestors are indeed fortunate that all Maryland death certificates through 2012 are now available online. (Until recently, only certificates 100 years old or older were online.) They begin in 1875 for Baltimore City and 1898 for the counties.

Birth and Death Certificates (Vital Records) - Health and Human Services - Montgomery County, Maryland
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services issues certified birth certificates for people born in Maryland 1940 or later. For birth certificates for people born in Maryland before 1940, call the Maryland Vital Statistics Administration at 410-764-3038. Montgomery Countyβs in-person birth certificate fee is $25.

Death Certificates You can get copies of death certificates for close family members if the death happened on or after January 1, 2015, and the death certificate is registered. If the death was before January 1, 2015, you need to call the Division of Vital Records at 410-764-3053 to get the death certificate.
